Wow! I'm glad you made it back home alive RG. It looks like you could have been swept away with the flood waters. The other two Team Gibson members got dirt time? I got out for about 20 miles this weekend on pavement, but had to do it on my MTB. I'm offically a redneck... I rode my bike to a bar on Friday night. I met Tonda on the other side of town close to where she works and threw my bike in her Lexus for the ride home. Her cousin was in town and wanted us to come have a drink with her; hell if I was going to waste the gas driving all the way there in the Pathfinder.
Tonda and I got out for a trip to the library so she could get some books and I could people watch.
I filled the Pathfinder on Saturday; it was the first time I had driven it since the marathon race and it was close to empty. $72.68 worth of gas will be sitting in the garage for the next two weeks while I commute on my bike everywhere I can!
Still thinking about a skinny tire bike, but just can't pull the trigger on it. I like my full squish way too much to give it up.
Greg and I rode saturday afternoon at tranquility. The trails were in real nice shape. I mowed the tranquility for 2 hours today, and even after this mornings rain it was dusty. Just something to keep in mind, The trails at tranquility dry fast guys.
Rob, glad to hear you are getting around on your bike that much. It's hard to do when you(me that is) have little kids that need to be taken everywhere.
$99 blows... Sorry to hear that you can't get around as easily on the bike as I can. I can't do all of my trips on my bike, but the daily commute I can. Tonight I have to go to the grocery store so I will be digging into my petrol stock-pile. I have actually thought about picking up a cheap-o $50 bike and a pull behind cart to run those type of errands. Maybe I should just push my wheel-barrow to the grocery store? How redneck is that?
I'm reducing my carbon footprint by not driving the Pathfinder. Tonda has to drive 22 miles daily, but her Lexus is getting almost 29mpg! Not bad for an all-wheel-drive luxury car. By the way, I'm amking my kids ride thier bikes to places. :)
I dont mean to brag, but My little roller skate of a car fulls up for $38, 27 mpg. Arent you doing lunch time rides rg, or riding to work? I could let my dogs baby sit for you, but they are expensive:).
You can fill up for $38??? At $3.859 a gallon that is only 9.8 gallons?
My kids are in house lockdown again... When are they ever going to learn not to brake the rules? :( no riding for me again this week so far other than to work and back. I have walked 29 miles since 5/18 though.
At this rate, I may need to move to the dark side and get a skinny tire bike. This crazy weather in Nebraska has been killing my spirits that I will see dirt anytime before the end of July.
When is team Gibson heading to Platte for vacation?

Unless they changed the schedule, the ccc (coropratecycling challenge) is one day after the tranq race, So I am probably out.

I'd love to ride to work, but:

I usually fill up before im empty rob, usually 1/8 tank left. My roller skate only has a 12 gallon tank.
Hope you guys are able to get out on the dirt soon, I hope this darn rain goes away for a while.
