Tuesday Lunch Ride

Wild weather at my house this weekend. I lost 1 Japanese Maple tree. It snapped because my neighbor's DELUXE Glider/Swing came over my Wood Privacy fence, flew threw my yard and landed on it. The swing was in the neighbor's yard behind me.

He also lost a BIG 10yr old Ash Tree, and 1/2 of his Pear tree.

Tuesday lunch ride with Ted will be my first dirt since Platte! Ouch.

Did you get out on the dirt RG? No dirt time for me, been riding pavement for my trips out on the bike.

Wilderness will never dry out if we continue to get rain every 3 days or so.

I brought my bike to work today. Sigh - brought it, didn't ride it in.

Anyway, we did get some rain last night but I'm going to give it a shot as I'm amazed at how quickly tranq dries.

I'll be out there around 12:15 if you want to join me!

PS. Tstorms Wed pm / Thurs am. Chance again for Friday.

Does anyone know what Platte looks like?

I thought that I read that Platte was pretty good, except for the gulley. That was last week I think.

I have no idea as to how much rain its gotten?? There were no posts on the THOR site so maybe post a message on FFL, I think there are some connections there.?

update:

I parked in the ice rink lot and started heading up the hill. The hill section was "stickey sweet". As I crested the hill the downhill section was a bit wetter. I was always alert to the "leave no trace" rule and felt ok riding down. The bottom flat area had 1 too many greasy sections (3 or 4 total); so I called it a day.

I rode back along the gravel road to the soccer fields. Then up to Maple and anlong Maple to the parking lot.

I only got in 22 minutes of riding, but I just didn't feel comfortable continuing on. I'm sure that there were plenty of sections that would have been perfect... i just was worried about the few "bad" spots that may have been between them.

I'll bet that tonight it would be stellar! Sunny and windy is what is like now. I guess my road bike is calling my name.?

My sis and I rode it tonight, It was in good shape considering. skipped the north creek trail, and had to walk around 3 other small spots, but other than that it was ok. Hopefully the weather cooperates soon.
