dirt

I am refreshed, rode over to tranq today with dmars and it is 90% rideable. I am so happy to be on dirt again. The north side of the creek was the only soft spot, we walked out of that area.

Psycowpath #1 - Norfork

Hmm, 2 weeks away. Dave is the only one in our little possee that has both ridden and raced out there.

Dave, you said that you were going to go out before the race and ride the course. Are you still planning on doing so? If so, when? I was thinking that I may take a 1/2 day's vacation from work to go out and do it too?

Plan b.
Get there on race day early, and ride a lap to see what its all about!

fast

Skinny tires CAN make a fat-ass fast! I was able to get out this afternoon for a lap around the lake. It marks the maiden voyage of the felt, and WOW, its fast!

NW wind was no fun in spots, but it was way better than the trainer-which was the alternative!

Standing Bear to Zorinsky

Went thru Standing bear to Zorinsky via big Pap trail, cruised down to Zorinsky with a nice tail wind. The trip back was'nt so fast, fighting head wind all the way.

Neighborhood rollers

WIND!!!!

Got out today, rode the route north of my house. The wind was terrible, 10-15 miles per hour going north, and 30+ going south. I did get up to 40 at one point. Hope you guys got out today in spite of the wind. You guys want to go riding Sunday?

Urban adventure

My wife and I drove separate yesterday. I then gave her a ride home. What better way to get exercise than to ride back to my vehicle, load it up and then drive it home. So, that's exactly what I did yesterday. Road from my house, through Zorinsky to the neighborhood to the North. Then across West Center Road at 171st st to my final destination. All in all about 25 minutes.

When I jumped the curb at Center, my front fender fell off. I for the life of me could not get it back on! It may be Busted. Look closely at my bumper in the last picture, the fender is resting on my frame.

Haven't seen any bikes...., but the weather is nice! 67 today, 70's the rest of the week! This picture was taken from my patio area. A moat where paddle boats roam, and the gulf and beach right over the grassy knoll. Beatuiful ...

Weekend Ride

Being that I closely monitor the weather, I opted for a Saturday ride around Zorinksy. I left my house at 4 p.m. and made it to the lake. Talk about madhouse! Every person within a ten mile radius that had a dog or dogs was out at the lake walking them.

I would say that at least 2/3's of them have never been on a trail where there are other users on it. For example, I'd say, "passing on your left!". They would immediately look up and step to the left. Or, I'd say, "on your left!", and they wouldn't move -- (they were walking two wide), again "on your left!".. nothing. Pass them off the trail on the left and it would startle them!

This was what a lot of the trail looked like. 60 degrees = melted snow! It was great to get out! Sorry you guys didn't get to enjoy any gravel on Sunday. One thing that I know, is that every day that goes by, we are one day closer to spring.
