Urban adventure

My wife and I drove separate yesterday. I then gave her a ride home. What better way to get exercise than to ride back to my vehicle, load it up and then drive it home. So, that's exactly what I did yesterday. Road from my house, through Zorinsky to the neighborhood to the North. Then across West Center Road at 171st st to my final destination. All in all about 25 minutes.

When I jumped the curb at Center, my front fender fell off. I for the life of me could not get it back on! It may be Busted. Look closely at my bumper in the last picture, the fender is resting on my frame.

Sunday Gravel?

Dave, I've got a kid playing 'throw up roulette' after every bottle. It is highly likely that I won't make it out at all.

Funny how life has a way of changing riding plans. I may be forced to ride the trainer after dark. Either way, I will ride today, SOMEHOW!

What do you guys think is the nicest paved trail in Omaha? My wife likes to ride, she evidently doesn't love it, but I hope to convert her this year. Anyway, we ride the paved trails in Lincoln a lot and would love to get a new perspective with a short day trip from Lincoln. She is up for about 15 miles of riding, maybe more if it is relativly flat.

Thanks,

Rob

Rob... Favorite paved trail is a tough one for us "dirt guys!".

I would say that the keystone trail is one that is the most well traveled. Find some info here: http://www.unomaha.edu/recadmin/trails/omahatrails.pdf

I think that all of the lakes (state parks) in the city have paved trails around them now. I'm partial to Zorinsky Lake (they call it the West Papio trail) as its 5 minutes from my house. From my garage, around the lake and back is about 10 miles.

If you are going to come to Omaha, we'll take you to some of our local single track trails, way more fun than pavement!

I would be happy to ride with you guys on the singletrack; that is what I love to ride too. My wife...well she likes the paved trails even though she has a full suspension rig. So, I need to find something that we can do togeather. I do plan on getting her out on Wilderness as soon as she gets a few more miles in and it finally dries out around here.

Do you guys have any more info on the Metro races? Since there is nothing else on my schedule after the race in Norfolk, I would like to find more races before the May Psycowpath races start.

There is no updated information on the MetrO site. But I'd guess that this is where they'll put it once they have it figured out!
