After the ride the other night we were talking about bike wheels and maintenance . I started to think about it and realized that I haven't repacked the bearings in my road bike since I bought it. So yesterday I completed the task and every thing seemed to turn smooth. I enjoy doing maintenance when ever possible on my bike.
Don't drop one of these, they like to bounce around and hide from you.

What would give you inclination that you needed to repack your bearings?

a. haven't been commuting in the weather on the bike
b. don't ride gravel on this bike

Or did you just want to see if you could do it, and it wouldn't hurt anyway?
I have 0 bike maintenance skills; I think they are going to all fall apart and fail!
I think you should repack bearings after so many miles. Your wheel will be happy and last longer too.
